Funding for the Alliance for Green Heat

The Alliance for Green Heat is funded through generous private donations and grants. The Alliance is a non-profit organization incorporated in Maryland and approved by the IRS as a 501c3 organization. We believe in transparency of funding because a group's funding sources can have a bearing on its positions and work. All donors who have given $100 or more are listed below.

Since our founding in May 2009, we received our largest grant - $63,000 - from the Forest Service's Wood Education and Resource Center. Our second largest was from the Osprey Foundation at $25,000. We have received numerous grants and gifts in the $3,000 - 5,000 range, including several from an industry group, Woodpellets.com, a pellet distributor who believes in our mission. As an independent non-profit, we do not accept advertisements, nor do we accept donations in return for promoting any particular product or service.
