John Ackerly, President
John oversees the group's policies, programs and fundraising. He has 25 years of experience in advocacy and non-profit management with the International Campaign for Tibet, Public Citizen, the Center for Constitutional Rights and others. He earned a BA from Dartmouth College and a JD at the Washington College of Law and practiced civil rights law. John serves on several boards of directors, including the Biomass Thermal Energy Council. He used to live in New Hampshire where he began heating with wood.
Murali Krist, IT Technical Support
Murali Krist handles IT issues and is building out the website, producing e-newletters and troubleshooting. He has finished his Master's Degree in Information Technology from University of Northern Virginia, VA. He has extensive experience in web applications and software development.
Melissa Bollman, Research Fellow
Melissa recently graduated summa cum laude from McDaniel College in Westminster, MD, where she received a BA in Environmental Policy/Science and Philosophy. She has previously conducted research on Costa Rica’s Payments for Environmental Services Program, which provides monetary compensation to local landowners who adopt sustainable forest management practices on their properties
