Fireplace Retrofit Program (Pilot Program)

Program Boundary Area: Baseline Road to Northern Avenue and 59th Avenue to 16th Street (Phoenix, AZ and Glendale, AZ)
Eligible fuels: Wood -> wood, natural gas
Notable feature(s): Free retrofits and conversions for residents within the pilot program area. One of only programs to offer catalytic retrofits for fireplaces.
The Maricopa County Air Quality Department (MCAQD) offers Phoenix and Glendale residents living within the pilot program boundaries free wood burning chimney (catalytic emission control system) retrofits or free conversions from wood to natural gas fireplaces. The program covers the entire cost of the retrofit, between $900 and $1,500.
The program is ongoing until funds are depleted. The program may be expanded to other Maricopa County residents in the future.
