In Germany, the Market Incentive Program provides grants for buyers of wood burning appliances. Automatically fueled appliances with output and combustion regulation to burn solid biomass, except for wood chips are incentivized. The incentive is € 36 / kW, and this applies for installations with a capacity of 5 kW - 100 kW. The minimum rebates are:
- For pellet ovens with water reservoir: € 1000
- For pellet boilers: € 2000
- For pellet boilers with newly built buffer tank with a storage capacity of at least 30l / kW: € 2500.
- For air driven pellet boilers from 5 to 100 kW: flat-rate € 500 - but generally not more than 20% of the net investment.
