The Judges of the Decathlon and some of the teams will be staying at the Hotel Harrington during the event. It is conveniently located only a short walk from the Mall.
There are many hotels near the event for you to choose from. Plenty of hotels in the DC area in general that are only a quick Metro ride away. Check out Google Hotel Finder to see which is most convenient for you.
The Wood Stove Decathlon will be held on the National Mall at 12th and Jefferson Drive, SW. The easiest way to get there is by taking the Metro to the Smithsonian metro stop on the Orange and Blue lines.

The Wood Stove Decathlon is located on the National Mall at 12th & Jefferson Drive, SW, right at the Mall exit of the Smithsonian Metro stop. While being in the heart of Washington, it's surrounded by Smithsonian museums and government buildings, so some things you would expect in the heart of a city are not so available. All the adjacent museums have cafeterias and bathrooms and entrance is free.
