As a part of the Wood Stove Decathlon there was an exhibition showcasing innovative products, ideas and solutions to the public, media and policymakers. Many exhibits were interactive and had things you can touch, use or do. Experts on these topics were also be on hand to provide more explanations.
The exhibits will include:
ETAS is a supplier of tools and solutions for embedded controls development for various mechatronic subsystems, e.g., emissions, engine, transmission, chassis, etc. We can outfit your biomass burning unit with the same emissions control system used in premium automotive products. As a division of the Robert Bosch Corporation, ETAS has over 20 years of experience and an extensive presence in the automotive and heavy duty diesel OEM market, as well as in adjacent mechatronic segments. Our business activities combine tools, services, and consulting that can be easily integrated to streamline the customer's controls development process and guarantee an optimal result.
At the Alaska Dynamics booth Theo Graber will be exhibiting his first stage prototype of the Delta-T Wood Stove Generator™, a thermoelectric generator for wood stoves that turns waste heat in the flue into usable power. Theo will be there to answer questions about his invention and it's development.
Stop by England's Stove Works booth to learn how the Pellet Smartstove with its programmable smart features can cut your heating bill by 5 to 20 percent. See how this new Smartstove technology has the ability to 'learn' how long it takes to heat a room. This means the Smartstove finds the optimum time to turn on before you get home from work or wake up in the morning.
Visitors to the ClearStak educational booth will learn how the ClearStak family of biomass controllers integrates and supports two types of Bosch® Lambda O2 sensors and three ETAS Smart Cables to improve combustion efficiency and reduce visible emissions. You will learn how management of oxygen and fuel is facilitated through the support of frequency drives, variable speed blowers, augers, and several digital and analog sensors. Our new focus for 2014 is on thermal efficiency. See how our integrated wireless solution and flow meter can provide you with alerts and reports for system management as well as reduce fuel consumption.
Learn why installers certified through the National Fireplace Institute certification program are the best choice for planing and installing hearth appliances. NFI representatives will be on hand to explain the certification process and the depth of knowledge necessary to achieve it. Wood burning, gas or pellet burning stoves and fireplaces are often to focal point of the home. Proper installation is critical to their efficient use and the safety of your family.
The Catalytic Hearth Coalition's objective is to work with all manufacturers of catalytic products to continually refine and improve these products for the environment and to educate the public about the benefits of catalytic technology. At our booth we intend to show various catalytic products that are in common use and how planet earth would be far different without catalytic reactions. A catalyst is a substance that increases the rate of a chemical reaction by reducing the activation energy, but which is left unchanged by the reaction. In the case of wood burning smoke, the catalyst lowers the temperature at which oxidation (burning) can occur causing more of the particulate matter to be consumed.
Stop by the BioLite booth to give your phone a charge and learn about their market-based approaches to poverty alleviation. By creating solutions that are effective, affordable and desirable to the end user, we can reach more people more effectively.
Burn Wise is a partnership program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency that emphasizes the importance of burning the right wood, the right way, in the right wood-burning appliance to protect your home, health, and the air we breathe. At our booth you will find information to help you make informed decisions about what it means to burn wise. Learn about ways to improve air quality in your community through changeout programs and education.
The Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves seeks to mobilize high-level national and donor commitments toward the goal of universal adoption of clean cookstoves and fuels. Its ambitious but achievable goal is to foster the adoption of clean cookstoves and fuels in 100 million households by 2020. The Alliance is mobilizing support from a wide range of private, public, and non-profit stakeholders.
