Pellet Stove Design Challenge Workshop

The Pellet Stove Design Challenge culminates in a workshop and competition from 9:00 AM Wednesday, April 6 to 3:00 PM Friday April 8. The workshop will feature a series of presentations, round table discussions and laboratory/testing workshops.

The workshop is geared towards professionals in industry, non-profits, and government agencies who focus on residential pellet heating. Topic areas include stove design, testing protocols, testing repeatability, efficiency calculations, pellet fuel combustion, lab vs. real world testing, pellet stove regulations, incentive and change-out programs, multi-fuel appliances, service and repair, etc.

During the workshop, designers and manufacturers of the finalist stoves in the pellet stove competition will give presentations about their designs and the stoves will be exhibited, operated, and undergo further testing. On Friday, there will be an awards ceremony recognizing the best stoves in various categories.

The workshop is designed to include both intensive and substantive forums, as well as numerous opportunities for informal socializing and networking. All the participants - organizers, teams, judges and attendees –will be staying at the Indigo Hotel, where meals and discussions continue after hours. Registration for the workshop is $100 per person. Attendee registration includes all the programs, materials, and on-site coffee and bagels each morning. Registration is limited to 100 participants.
