Fireplace Retrofit Program (Pilot Program)

Program Boundary Area: Baseline Road to Northern Avenue and 59th Avenue to 16th Street (Phoenix, AZ and Glendale, AZ)
Eligible fuels: Wood -> natural gas
Notable feature(s): Free retrofits and conversions for residents within the pilot program area. One of only programs to offer catalytic retrofits for fireplaces.
Incentive Amounts
The Maricopa County Air Quality Department (MCAQD) offers Phoenix and Glendale residents living within the pilot program boundaries up to $2,000 to retrofit an existing fireplace to a natural gas fireplace.
Program Duration
The program is ongoing until funds are depleted. The program may be expanded to other Maricopa County residents in the future.

Requirements Participants must live within the program boundaries for eligibility. Participants must have a fireplace chimney and firebox that are in good working order with an existing chimney cap and operational damper. Property owner must be present throughout the duration of the process and accept liability if a gas pressure test fails. Limited to one installation per household.
