The program is ongoing until funds are depleted.
Procedure
Homeowners must first obtain a Woodstove Changeout Application - Proof of Residence Form at the DEQ Pocatello Regional Office (city utility bill required). A new device can be purchased from five participating vendors: Idaho Stove Works, Mr. Mower, Nick’s Fireplace Outfitters, Rocky Mountain Supply, and Webbco. These vendors offer an additional 10 percent discount on the new unit. Homeowners will schedule to have their new unit installed by a woodstove partner who will dispose of the old one. They must keep proof of purchase and the disposal receipt to claim the deduction on the Idaho tax return.
Requirements
This program is open only to homeowners. Old stoves must be disposed. Participants are also eligible for the state of Idaho wood stove tax deduction. The installation of uncertified stoves is banned in both of these cities.
